Mullah Omar, in his sublime lunacy, relished in thinking that by claiming to
dream of God's prophets night and day he could perpetuate his criminal
stranglehold on our people. But before his venal regime of Taliban hangmen
could be overthrown by a general insurrection of the Afghan population they
were toppled by their foreign creators and patrons. This, however, did not
mean that the fetters of captivity were broken from the hands and feet of
our nation. For the people of Afghanistan, it was "out of the frying pan,
into the fire". The governance of the country went to a cabal of "Northern
Alliance" criminals who surpass by far their Taliban predecessors in
misogyny, parochialism and lack of any sense of honour.
In our country questions are answered with bullets, a smile is considered a
crime, love must be stoned to death, freedom must be imprisoned behind veils
and the hungry feed on dust and dirt. This is because
the reign of terror of the infernal Khad (local KGB-created secret police)
continues and the Khadi agents -now touting Korans and prayer mats- still
decide the fate of the people. In this pigsty of the likes of Osama bin
Laden and his Taliban and Jihadi terrorist mercenaries, not only
free-thinking patriotic artists but Art itself is held in thrall by
religious bigotry and are daily being brutalised and debased.
Despite innumerable bloodcurdling threats in the past from the Taliban
barbarians and their Jihadi brethren, RAWA -the Revolutionary Association of
Women of Afghanistan- on several occasions produced music cassettes of
patriotic songs and songs of defiance dedicated to our indomitable people.
We now have the great honour and pleasure of presenting our newest
collection of patriotic and revolutionary songs as a small contribution to
the anti-fundamentalist struggle.
We dedicate this newest collection to all fighters for democracy and social
justice.
